Denver home resale prices increased 9% in December 2013 from a year ago, according to the latest S&P Case-Shiller Home Prices Index. This was the 24th consecutive month of year-over-year gain for Denver home prices. Home prices in all 20 metro areas tracked by Case-Shiller showed home prices increased on average 13.4% in December from a year ago. According to Case-Shiller,  home resale prices for Denver ended 2013 with a year-over-year increase of 9% or more for 11 out of 12 months with the exception of November’s 8.9%. Home resale prices increased 9.5% in October, 9.9% in September and 10.1% in August from a year earlier. Case-Shiller home price index for Denver came in at 146.26 for December which basically means the home resale prices averaged 46.26% higher than they did in the benchmark month of January 2000.
