Metro Denver homes ties with two coastal markets for home price increases in October 2015, tying with San Francisco and Portland according to the latest S&P/Case Shiller Home Prices Index report. Metro Denver home prices grew 10.2% year-over-year which was identical to San Francisco and Portland. San Francisco and Denver were both trading places for the city with the fastest growing home prices in the country during 2015. According to the report, only Denver, San Diego and San Francisco posted double digit home price increases. The home price index for metro Denver homes set another record high at 174.22 in October, surpassing September’s 173.46. A benchmark reading above 100, means the average home resale prices has increased 73.58% since the inception of the index January 2000.
