Condo and townhome permits surges in March according to Home Builders Association of Metro Denver. A total of 1,740 permits were issued in the first quarter which was a 4.3% increase compared to the 1,668 permits in Q1 of 2013. In Mach, there were 187 townhome permits issued, compared to 67 permits in March of 2013. Total permits for townhomes for the first quarter came in at 402 which was a 64.75% increase from the 244 issued in the first quarter of 2013. March total for condominiums permits came in at 118 while no permits were issued in March of 2013. Condominiums permits for the first quarter came in at 142 permits which was an increase of 787.50% compared to only 16 permits in Q1 of 2013. Increases in the condo and townhome permits were partially attributable to the 70 luxury condo units under construction at 250 Columbine by Western Development.
